What is Taxol?
Taxol as a secondary compound belongs to the class of taxane. It is a tetracylic diterpene alkaloid
complex with the generic name “paclitaxel”. Paclitaxel is characterized by a complex side chain at the C-13 position compared to its C-5 position in other taxane’s classes. It also has a ketone group at C-9 position.
